Race Start 2003
A friendly rural road race, over a point to point course, starting in one East Sussex village and finishing in the neighbouring village.

This year is the 11th running of the Kings Head Canter 5K. Each year on the August Bank Holiday Monday around 200 runners enjoy the great atmosphere of this well organised event, complete with barbeque and drinks at the finish. David Bradford and the Canter for Sight team will be running the Kings Head Canter 5k to raise money for the British Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) Society - a charity which supports RP sufferers and raises money to fund scientific research into finding a cure. The 4980 metre point to point course is a SEAA measured undulating rural course with an overall climb of 20 metres, starting in Chiddingly and finishing in East Hoathly. Entries are taken up until 10:30 am on the day, however there is a race limit of 250, so to be sure of an entry we recommend entering before the postal closing date of Monday 18th August 2008. Entries can be made by post (entry form available, click link on left) or online through the Runners World website. Fees £6 affiliated, £8 unattached, entry on day + £2 but 250 limit. Jog Shop Brighton vouchers and Kings Head Canter unique trophies for first three finishers in the following categories: Male, Female, and Over 40 Age Graded. (Racemaster98 Age Graded %. Click here to find out more about the Racemaster98 Age Graded % ) Village Team Event. There is a 3 person team competition for people that either live, work or play in East Hoathly. Teams can be made from: an East Hoathly street, a club or business team, or simply a team of friends and family. No matter what age, the result is calculated using Racemaster98 age graded %. The Kings Head Canter 5K is organised by the East Hoathly and Halland Carnival Society. Any money raised from the race is used to help organise the spectacular Carnival that takes place in November each year. An event well worth attending!
